KIEV, March 11 - The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) has assessed the situation to be calm in Luhansk region, while fighting in and around the Donetsk airport and east of Mariupol has continued.

The SMM made the statement in its report posted at 18:00 Kiev time on March 9.

"At a location 750m south of the Donetsk airport's destroyed new terminal building, the SMM heard several bursts of small arms and heavy machinegun fire as well as 32 explosions consistent with incoming and outgoing mortar or artillery rounds," the mission said.
