KIEV, March 10 - As the war goes on in Ukraine, a quarter of the country's industrial enterprises has halted production and one can hardly expect foreign investment, but defense spending will be maintained, said Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
"Ukraine is living in conditions of war. About 25% of the country's industrial potential has come to a halt and ten per cent has been destroyed. Defense spending currently exceeds UAH 90 billion [stipulated in the 2015 national budget]. But Ukraine has found an opportunity to maintain defense spending needed," Poroshenko said in an interview with Pershyi Natsionalnyi Channel on Monday night, the presidential press service said.
