KIEV, Feb. 5 – U.S. President Barack Obama is studying various options for providing assistance to Ukraine, including defensive weapons, U.S. State Department John Kerry said.

The president is considering all the options (for providing assistance to Ukraine). One of the options is providing defense assistance to Ukraine, Kerry said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk in Kiev on Thursday.

According to the state secretary, these discussions are underway, and Obama will soon make his decision.
