EU mulls closer integration with Ukraine

BRUSSELS, Nov. 16 - The European Parliament has backed closer integration between the EU and Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova with a view to those countries joining the customs union and Schengen area, plus gaining increased access to the single market, The Independent newspaper reported.

KIEV, Nov. 16 - Ukraine edged out of recession last quarter with 0.7 percent growth, official statistics showed Monday, as authorities eye the start of a lengthy path to recovery after a devastating economic collapse sparked by conflict, AFP reported.


Helicopter crashes in Slovakia carrying Ukrainians, illegal immigrants

KIEV, Nov. 13 - Monetary base in Ukraine in October decreased by 0.9%, to UAH 318.5 billion, while money supply increased by 2.4%, to UAH 958.7 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.
