Natgas talks with Russia fail to progress

KIEV, Jan. 17 – Ukraine’s natural gas price talks with Russia failed to make progress on Tuesday, with Kiev insisting that it will cut imports of Russian gas unless the price is reduced.

Energy and Coal Minister Yuriy Boyko met the head of OAO Gazprom, Russia’s gas export monopoly, in Moscow, but the two had failed to reach any deal, Gazprom said in a statement.


Rada votes to cancel requirement that reinsurers be WTO members

KIEV, Jan. 14 – Parliament has passed a draft law on amendments to the law on insurance regarding the cancellation of requirements for reinsurance to be conducted only in countries that are members of the World Trade Organization.
