US state department warns citizens against traveling to Ukraine

KIEV, April 17 – The U.S. Department of State has advised its citizens to defer non-essential travel to Ukraine, as well as cancel all trips to eastern Ukraine and Crimea.


US to send non-lethal aid to Ukrainian armed forces in show of support

WASHINGTON, April 17 - The United States said on Thursday it would send Ukraine's armed forces medical supplies, sleeping mats and other non-lethal aid, seeking to signal support for Kiev while stopping far short of adding any U.S. weaponry to a deepening standoff with Russia, Reuters reported.


Diplomats call for Ukraine violence halt

GENEVA, April 17 - The United States, Russia, Ukraine and the European Union called after crisis talks on Thursday for an immediate halt to violence in Ukraine.

President Barack Obama said the meeting in Geneva between Russia and western powers was promising but that the United States and its allies were prepared to impose more sanctions on Russia if the situation fails to improve.


EU to hold tender on European integration information campaign

Foreign investments not subject to nationalization, president says

AMMAN, April 17 – Foreign investments in Ukraine are not subject to nationalization, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"National rules of investment activities are applied to foreign investors on the territory of Ukraine. Foreign investments in Ukraine are not subject to nationalization," Yanukovych said at a Ukrainian-Jordanian business forum in Amman on Tuesday.


President made UAH757,600 in 2011, according to released declaration

KIEV, April 17 – President Viktor Yanukovych has made public his declaration of income for 2011, the presidential press service reported.

The declaration was posted on the official Web site of the president as required by Ukrainian law, and within 30 days will be published in an official newspaper.


Yatseniuk denied Tymoshenko jail meeting

KIEV, April 17 – Ukraine’s opposition groups on Tuesday suffered another setback in their unification efforts ahead of October’s election after the authorities refused to let Arseniy Yatseniuk visit Yulia Tymoshenko in jail to finalize their unification deal.


Ukraine sees Jordan as important Middle East partner, president says

KIEV, April 17 – Ukraine sees Jordan as an important partner in the Middle East, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"This visit will give a new impetus to our relations, and mutual interests will only increase," the presidential press service quoted him as saying at talks between Ukrainian and Jordanian delegations in Amman on April 16.
