Putin stops short of backing Trump’s ceasefire

WASHINGTON, March 18 - President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed during a lengthy call Tuesday to an immediate pause in strikes against energy infrastructure in the Ukraine war, but the Russian leader stopped short of backing a broader 30-day pause in fighting that the U.S. administration is pressing for.


US Senator: Ukraine aid may soon be approved

KYIV, March 18 - U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said on Monday, after meeting Ukraine's president, that he was confident an aid package stalled in the U.S. Congress would soon be approved but called for aid to take the form of a low-interest, waivable loan.
