Ukraine to focus on building smaller power generating units for Kharkiv
KYIV, Apr 12 – The Ukrainian government, in preparation for the next heating season, will focus on the sooner construction of small power generation facilities for Kharkiv and other cities, followed by a transition to the construction of large gas turbine power plants in the medium-term perspective.

Rutte: The Netherlands to provide EUR 1-bln defense assistance to Ukraine
KYIV, April 12 – The Netherlands has provided another EUR 1 billion in defense assistance and EUR 400 million for recovery to Ukraine in addition to obligations under the bilateral security agreement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after a phone talk with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Congress may consider Israel, Ukraine aid

World Bank’s IFC to increase Ukraine investment to $500-mln within months
WASHINGTON, April 18 – The International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, has invested $208 million in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, and in the next few months the amount of investments may increase to $500 million, said IFC Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean Alfonso Garcia Mora.

US warns Russia about nuclear technology
WASHINGTON, April 18 - The US has sensitive nuclear technology at a nuclear power plant inside Ukraine and is warning Russia not to touch it, CNN reported Tuesday citing a letter the US Department of Energy sent to Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy firm Rosatom last month.

Ukraine accelerates spring grain planting despite raging war with Russia
KYIV, April 15 – During the sowing season 2022, Ukraine sowed 1.94 million hectares of land with the main agricultural crops, which is 14.4% of the 13.44 million hectares planned for the current season, including 0.87 million hectares were sown during the week, on April 8 through April 15.
