Ukraine to soon start building $1 billion Odessa LNG terminal

KIEV, Aug. 18 - Ukraine will soon start building a liquefied natural gas terminal near Odessa to reduce dependence on imports of Russian gas, Oleksandr Turchynov, the speaker of Parliament, said Monday.

The $1 billion project is supposed to use a floating platform to begin LNG imports before expanding the project on-shore.

Dozens reported killed fleeing fighting

KIEV, Aug. 18 - Dozens of people, including women and children, were killed as they fled fighting in eastern Ukraine on Monday when their convoy of buses was hit by rocket fire, a military spokesman said.
