China’s Xi to meet Putin as tensions escalate with West
KYIV, March 19 - Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to travel to Moscow on Monday for talks with his Russian counterpart in a trip that may provide Vladimir Putin a diplomatic boost amid his escalating confrontation with the West.

Three Ukrainian civilians killed, 19 wounded in Russian artillery strike
KYIV, March 19 - Ukrainian officials reported Sunday that at least three civilians had been killed and 19 wounded by Russian shelling in the previous 24 hours. The deaths were in the eastern Donetsk region, amid fierce battles for control of the city of Bakhmut, according to Gov. Pavlo Kyrylenko on Ukrainian TV.

Putin, wanted for war crimes, visits Mariupol
KYIV, March 19 - Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the occupied port city of Mariupol, his first trip to Ukrainian territory that Moscow illegally annexed in September and a show of defiance after the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest on war crimes charges.
