Ukraine's real GDP growth slows to 0.5% in Feb vs. 1.3% in Jan

KYIV, March 20 – Ukraine's real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by just 0.5% in February 2025 compared to February 2024, down from the 1.3% growth recorded in January, according to the Monthly Economic Monitoring report by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).


EU plans to allocate EUR 1-bln each month to Ukraine as part of ERA loan

KYIV, March 20 – The current plan for the EU to allocate funding to Ukraine under the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) loan initiative from frozen Russian funds provides for the continuation of payments of EUR 1 billion each following month, and then in December in a single tranche the last EUR 6 billion, European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis said.

U.S. announces $350-mln military assistance package for Ukraine

KYIV, March 20 – The United States is allocating another package of military assistance to Ukraine, its volume will amount to $350 million, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday.

“Today, pursuant to a delegation of authority from President Biden, I am authorizing our 34th drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine valued at $350 million,” the statement reads.


Russia plans to hold U.N. meeting on Ukrainian children

KYIV, March 20 - Russia plans to hold an informal meeting of the U.N. Security Council in early April on what it said is “the real situation” of Ukrainian children taken to Russia, an issue that has gained the spotlight following the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin for war crimes related to their abduction.
