Government reports progress in Washington talks with the IMF

KIEV, June 20 – The International Monetary Fund supports the continuation of active work on a program of cooperation with Ukraine, the press service of the Ukrainian government reported on Saturday.


World Bank ready to help Ukraine reform, say bank officials

KIEV, June 20 – The World Bank is ready to assist Ukraine in holding reforms in most import and promising areas.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Vice President of the World Bank Philippe Le Houerou and World Bank Regional Director for Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine Martin Raiser on Friday evening, the press service of the Ukrainian government reported on Saturday.


China’s Hu brings $3.5b of business deals

KIEV, June 20 — China’s President Hu Jintao on Monday oversaw the signing of business deals worth $3.5 billion on his first visit to Ukraine.

Hu said that the agreements in energy, technology, trade and other fields will bring bilateral relations “to a new level of strategic partnership,” the Associated Press reported.


Reports of outside help on gas transit are premature, Yanukovych says
