Yanukovych will try for gas compromise with Russians, premier says

KIEV, Sept. 19 - President Viktor Yanukovych, at an upcoming meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow, will try to reach a compromise on natural gas prices, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Tuesday.

Ukrainian government forecasts bumper harvests for crops next year

KIEV, Sept. 17 - The Ukrainian government forecasts that the harvest next year will increase for virtually all crops.

The grain harvest next year will total 43.5 million tons according to the state program for socioeconomic development in 2010 drafted by the Cabinet and published on the web site of the Verkhovna Rada. The harvest this year is projected to total 42.565 million tons.
