KIEV, April 22 – Over 1,000 coalminers who came to protest outside the presidential administration's building in downtown Kiev and hand over their demands to the country's leadership broke through police lines on Bankova Street and came close to the building today.

PM: Ukraine seeking US and European investors for gas transit

KIEV, April 22 - Ukraine will seek to attract U.S. and European energy companies to modernize and to operate the country’s natural gas transportation system, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said Tuesday.

Yatseniuk made the comments after meeting U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Kiev who has come to assure Ukraine in support amid growing fears of armed confrontation with Russia.

Prosecutor suspends construction of Catholic church in Kiev

EU cannot name date for Association Agreement decision, says official

BRUSSELS, April 19 - The European Union cannot now name the date when a decision can be made on the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine, a senior EU official told reporters in Brussels on Friday, ahead of a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which will be held in Luxembourg on Monday.
