IMF, Ukraine may start talks on new program after PMB’s first revision
KYIV, Nov 28 – Negotiations on a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will already include financing, may begin after the first revision of the Program Monitoring with Board Involvement (PMB), the staff-level agreement reached last week, the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Andriy Pyshnyy has said.

Ukraine expects that EU’s EUR 18-bln financing to materialize in 2023
KYIV, Nov 28 – After the positive vote of the European Parliament last week on the provision of EUR 18 billion to finance the state budget deficit of Ukraine in 2023, the Ministry of Finance is waiting for the final decision of the EU member states in the European Council on December 6 and then the rapid completion of all internal procedures, Deputy Minister Olha Zykova has said.

Ukraine seeks to get better air defenses
KYIV, Nov 28 - Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, hosting the largest delegation of top foreign officials since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a Russian invasion of Ukraine over nine months ago, insisted that better air defenses were needed from allies “to break this vicious cycle” of Russian air strikes followed by Ukrainian rebuilding of damaged infrastructure.

Turkey ready to mediate between Ukraine and Russia, Erdogan says
ANKARA, Nov 29 – Turkey is ready to act as a mediator between Ukraine and Russia, President Tayyip Erdogan was cited as saying by broadcaster NTV on Monday, despite having angered Moscow by selling armed drones to Kyiv earlier this year amid tensions in eastern Ukraine, Reuters reported.

Belarus, Russia to launch joint army drills
MINSK, Nov 29 - Belarus has announced joint military exercises with Russia along its southern border as NATO gathers for a meeting to discuss its concerns about the Russian troop buildup near Ukraine, RFE RL reported Monday.

Ukraine agrees to cut 2021 budget deficit
KYIV, Nov 27 - The Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to reduce the deficit in the draft national budget for 2021 from 6% to 5.5% of GDP, potentially meeting demand from the International Monetary Fund, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
