Ukraine, IMF discuss timing of next team visit to check reforms

KYIV, April 23 - Ukraine and the IMF are continuing negotiations on the arrival of the IMF mission in Kyiv for further cooperation as part the EFF program, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Yakiv Smolii has said after talks in Washington.


G7 calls on Ukraine to speed up reforms, set up Anti-Corruption Court

KYIV, April 24 – The G7 foreign ministers have called on the Ukrainian authorities to ensure the progress of reforms, including the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court in accordance with recommendations of the Venice Commission.


Poroshenko thanks Romanians for providing financial help to Ukraine

KIEV, April 22 - President Petro Poroshenko has expressed gratitude to Romania for providing financial assistance to Ukraine.

"The head of state expressed gratitude to the government of Romania for the decision to allocate military-technical assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR250,000 and the contribution of Romania to the NATO Trust Fund on Cybersecurity in the amount of EUR500,000.

Prosecutor general halts criminal probes after suspects go on the lam

KIEV, April 22 – The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has explained that the criminal cases against former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka, his former deputy Renat Kuzmin, former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Yakymenko and former head of the National Bank of Ukraine Ihor Sorkin have been suspended due to the fact that these people are hiding from justice, but their cases have not been closed.
