Azarov hopeful on avoiding household natural gas price hikes

KIEV, Oct. 24 – Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said he hopes that gas tariffs for households will not be raised.

"We are set to agree with Russia on an acceptable price for gas. My last meeting with the Russian prime minister gives reason to believe that the agreement is rather close," he said an interview with Ukrainian television's 1+1 TV Channel late on Sunday, when asked when Ukrainians should expect a rise in gas tariffs.


Chavez visit won’t affect relations with Washington, says official

KIEV, Oct. 21 – The visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Ukraine is not likely to affect relations between Kiev and Washington in any way, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian President Andriy Honcharuk told the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper.


Boryspil Airport’s new passenger terminal to start work in November

KIEV, Oct. 22 – Boryspil Airport’s Terminal F will start work as of November 1, the Ukrainian Transport and Communications Minister said.

“UIA (Ukraine International Airlines) will start working there as of November 1 and it [the terminal] will be more engaged,” Transport and Communications Minister Kostiantyn Yefymenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Thursday. “40% of flights from Terminal B will be transferred there by the end of the year.”
