KIEV, Oct. 23 – The representation of five parties in the new Parliament, particularly the Regions Party, Batkivschyna, UDAR, the Communist Party and Svoboda, is the most likely outcome of the elections scheduled for October 28, according to Europe's betting firm bwin Interactive Entertainment AG (Vienna).


Door to Europe open if Ukraine behaves, says enlargement commissioner

KIEV, Oct. 24 – The door to Europe is open for Ukraine if the country complies with European standards, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule said.

"We are set to agree with Russia on an acceptable price for gas. Boryspil Airport’s new passenger terminal to start work in November

KIEV, Oct. 22 – Boryspil Airport’s Terminal F will start work as of November 1, the Ukrainian Transport and Communications Minister said.

“UIA (Ukraine International Airlines) will start working there as of November 1 and it [the terminal] will be more engaged,” Transport and Communications Minister Kostiantyn Yefymenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Thursday. “40% of flights from Terminal B will be transferred there by the end of the year.”


Undocumented ballots found by opposition

KIEV, Oct. 24 - A group of opposition lawmakers uncovered a massive cache of undocumented ballots printed at a facility in Kharkiv, suggesting that preparation for fraud is underway ahead of Ukraine’s Oct. 31 local elections.


Burying Tymoshenko plan, president orders military draft next year

KIEV, Oct. 24 – In a move that effectively buries an initiative of Yulia Tymoshenko, the likely new prime minister, for the creation of professional army in 2008, President Viktor Yushchenko signed a decree ordering a military draft next year.
