KYIV, Aug 24 - Ukraine’s president on Tuesday urged closer ties between the ex-Soviet nation and NATO and the European Union in a speech marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, the AP reported.

Parliament votes to increase minimum wage to UAH 5,000/month

KYIV, Aug 25 – Parliament has approved the decision to increase the minimum wage in Ukraine to UAH 5,000 from September 1, 2020.

A total of 295 Members of Parliament voted in favor of respective bill No. 3963 amending the law on the national budget of Ukraine for 2020 during an extraordinary session on Tuesday.

KYIV, Aug 25 – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on Monday said Ukraine was seeking to sign the Common Aviation Area Agreement with the EU in the near future, according to a statement on the Ukrainian government's website.


NBU official says Ukraine may get one IMF loan tranche by year-end

KYIV, Aug 25 - The basic scenario of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the Stand-By Arrangement with the receipt of two tranches by the end of this year, in September and December, is unrealistic, it is worth counting on one tranche, Head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Council Bohdan Danylyshyn said.
