Thousands gather throughout Ukraine to mourn Stalin famine victims
KIEV, Nov. 24 - Thousands of people from all over Ukraine gathered Saturday on a square in Kiev to mourn the millions who died of starvation during a famine engineered by the Soviet authorities 75 years ago.
President Viktor Yushchenko, speaking to the crowd, once again called on the international community to recognize the Holodomor — or death by hunger — as an act of genocide. |

Kyiv residents overwhelmingly believe Ukraine to win war against Russia
KYIV, Oct 24 – Some 91% of the surveyed residents of the capital believe that Ukraine will win the war, in particular, 74% are certainly convinced of this, and only 1% of respondents believe that Russia will win. This is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on October 12-16.

Germany prepares "protective shield" winter aid package for Ukraine

International financial organizations begin to insure war risks in Ukraine
KYIV, Oct 24 – The first insurance projects against war and political risks have already begun to be implemented in Ukraine thanks to cooperation with international financial organizations and national export credit agencies of partner countries, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko reported, according to the ministry's website.
