Russian paratroopers claim they strayed across border by mistake

KIEV, Aug. 27 - A group of Russian paratroopers captured by Ukrainian forces said on Wednesday they had embarked on what they believed was a routine training patrol and had not realized they were on Ukrainian territory until their detention, Reuters reported.


Ukrainians warn Europe of possible cutoff of Russian natgas supplies

KIEV, Aug. 27 - Ukraine warned Europe on Wednesday that Russia could cut off gas to the continent this winter, but Moscow responded that the supply of gas would continue regardless of politics, Reuters reported.

Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk said Kiev knew of Russian plans to halt gas flows this winter to Europe, comments that were promptly denied by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.


Kiev accuses Moscow of another incursion
