UN says Ukrainians need more assistance
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 31 - Russian strikes are inflicting unimaginable suffering on the people of Ukraine and more than 40% of them need humanitarian assistance, a senior U.N. official told the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday.

Johnson: Ukraine aid package next on agenda
WASHINGTON, Nov 1 - New Speaker Mike Johnson told Republican senators Wednesday that a fresh Ukraine aid package linked to U.S. border security will come up quickly in the House, as soon as lawmakers wrap up the $14.5 billion Israel aid package that is heading for passage this week.

Ukrainian Cabinet improves hryvnia performance forecast through 2023
KYIV, Nov 1 – When finalizing the draft state budget 2023 for the second reading, the government of Ukraine improved the assessment of the hryvnia exchange rate at the end of next year to UAH 45.8/$1 from UAH 50/$1 in the original version, while leaving unchanged the forecast of the average annual exchange rate of UAH 42.2/$1, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, the deputy head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, has said.

Russia fails to stop Ukraine’s grain exports
KYIV, Nov 1 - Ships loaded with grain departed Ukraine on Tuesday despite Russia suspending its participation in a U.N.-brokered deal that ensures safe wartime passage of critical food supplies meant for parts of the world struggling with hunger, The Associated Press reported.
