Natural gas deal to remain in effect for now, says Gazprom CEO

MOSCOW, Sept. 27 - Gazprom is open to a search for compromises, but until the achievement and signing of a final agreement with Ukraine, the existing long-term contract will remain in effect until 2019, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told reporters.


PM asks NBU to tweak new rules restricting currency exchange

KIEV, Sept. 27 – Prime Minister Mykola Azarov supports the toughening of the rules of sale and purchase of cash currency, but he said that it is necessary to adjust them to reduce limitations of the freedoms of citizens.

"All of these measures should not restrict freedoms of people. If currency is obtained legally, it should be freely exchanged without any limitations," he told the press on Tuesday in Kiev.
