Fears voiced for safety of people mentioned in Party of Regions probe

KIEV, June 2 – National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Director Artem Sytnyk has said that there is a real threat to health and welfare of some persons mentioned in the case about the shadow costs of the Party of Regions (previously headed by disgraced former President Viktor Yanukovych) presented by former first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Viktor Trepak.

KIEV, June 2 – The International Monetary Fund worsened its Ukraine economic forecast, predicting a 9% GDP decline for 2015.

The World Economic Outlook published in the middle of April 2015 by meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Ukraine's GDP decline in 2015 was projected at 5.5%. In 2016, it was forecast Ukraine would see a 2% increase in its GDP.

Fierce battle ensues after pro-Russian rebels attack border post

KIEV, June 2 - A fierce battle was underway on Monday in Ukraine's rebellious east after a pro-Russian militia attacked a Ukrainian border post with automatic weapons and grenade launchers in the early hours.
