Russia claims full control of Luhansk region

IMF’s Executive Board enables disbursement of $2.2-bln loan to Ukraine
KYIV, June 29 – The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the fourth review of the extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine, enabling a disbursement of about $2.2 billion (SDR 1.66 billion) to Ukraine, which will be channeled for budget support.

IMF says Ukraine is likely to face power shortages through end of 2025
KYIV, July 1 – The electricity shortage in Ukraine, which arose due to massive attacks by the Russian Federation on the energy system, the latest of which led to the destruction of about half of the generating capacity, which is estimated at more than 80% for thermal power plants and more than 40% for hydroelectric power plants, will continue until the end of 2025, it is reported in updated memorandum with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Ukraine recruits prisoners to fight Russia
KYIV, July 1 – Ukraine is expanding the draft to cope with acute battlefield shortages more than two years into fighting against Russia’s full-scale invasion. And its recruiting efforts have turned, for the first time, to the country’s prison population, The Associated Press reported.
