NATO’s Rutte won’t talk about Ukraine membership
BRUSSELS, Dec 3 - NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte on Tuesday sidestepped questions about Ukraine’s possible membership in the military alliance, saying that the priority now must be to strengthen the country’s hand in any future peace talks with Russia by sending it more weapons.

Kyiv, at 132nd place, returns to most expensive cities to live ranking: EIU
KYIV, Dec 1 – Kyiv returned to the ranking of the most expensive cities to live, taking 132nd place out of 173, according to a study by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
According to their report, in 2022, the Ukrainian capital was not included in the ranking due to Russian aggression, and in 2021 it ranked 118th. Due to the lack of data for 2022 in the study, prices in Kyiv were not taken into account in the calculation of average inflation.

World Bank approves $1.2-bln INSPIRE social project in Ukraine
KYIV, Dec 1 – On November 30, the World Bank approved a new project for Ukraine, Investing in Social Protection for Inclusion, Resilience, and Efficiency (INSPIRE) worth $1.2 billion, which will provide financing for 29 types of social benefits to the most vulnerable segments of the population Ukraine, suffering from the devastating consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine, Poland agree to open border crossing point to ease crisis
KYIV, Dec 1 – Ukraine and Poland agreed on the opening of the Uhryniv-Dolhobyczow border crossing point (BCP) for the passage of empty trucks to increase border capacity and reduce the load on other border BCP, as well as facilitating the eCherha system for Polish vehicles.

KYIV, Dec 3 - Ukrainian officials on Sunday launched an investigation into allegations that Russian forces killed surrendering Ukrainian soldiers — a war crime if confirmed — after grainy footage on social media appeared to show two uniformed men being shot at close range after emerging from a dugout.
