President decrees MSDC measures aimed at boosting military capability

KIEV, Nov. 5 – President Petro Poroshenko issued a decree on November 4 enacting a September 12 decision of the National Security and Defense Council on a package of measures to step up the state's defense capability and proposals to the clauses of the 2015 draft state budget dealing with national security and defense.

The corresponding decree was posted on the president's website on Tuesday.


Ukraine to spend EU money to compensate for additional gas costs

KIEV, Nov. 5 – The Ukrainian government plans to send UAH 440 million of funds provided by the European Union to compensate 50% of the cost of the volume of replaced natural gas after the current heating season to enterprises if regional gas supply companies confirm the fact of gas replacement, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhiy Savchuk said in Kiev on Tuesday.


PM: Government will continue supplying gas and electricity to Donbas

KIEV, Nov. 5 – The Ukrainian government will continue supplying gas and electricity to the rebel-controlled areas of Donbas, despite the absence of any payments, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.


Russia is sabotaging Minsk agreements, foreign ministry says

KIEV, Nov. 5 - Russia is not complying with the Minsk agreements on Donbas but is in fact sabotaging them, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said.
