Poroshenko calls for pressure on Moscow

Miner wage arrears threatens Donetsk environmental catastrophe
KIEV, March 4 - The staff of the Chervony Zhovten water pump mine in Yenakiyeve, Donetsk region, have said they are ready to go on strike due to wage arrears.
The miners "are on the verge of a social explosion, they have not been paid this year," the Mining Industry Workers Union has reported on its Web site. |
Yanukovych: European integration to proceed on ‘step-by-step’ basis
KIEV, March 4 - Ukrainian integration with Europe will happen on a step-by-step basis, President Viktor Yanukovych said.
"We are prepared for European integration as much as Europe itself is prepared for this. We are realists, we understand that we have to carry out reforms, we need to harmonize our laws and technical standards, and there is a host of issues here. But we will be integrating step-by-step," Yanukovych said in an exclusive interview with Interfax. |
