KIEV, June 9 – The Ukraine-NATO Inter-Parliamentary Council has condemned the recent escalation of violence by pro-Russian separatists near Maryinka.

This follows from a joint statement of Verkhovna Rada deputy chairman Andriy Parubiy and co-head of Ukraine-NATO Inter-parliamentary Council from NATO Parliamentary Assembly Raynell Andreychuk.


Fire and explosion at fuel depot kills 5

KIEV, June 9 - A massive fire at a Ukrainian fuel depot killed five people on Tuesday, officials said, including three firemen who went missing after the flames triggered a powerful explosion, Reuters reported.

BRUSSELS, June 9 - Trilateral talks bringing together Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission will resume on Tuesday or early on Wednesday after eight hours of negotiations failed to get a deal on Monday, Reuters reported, citing a Commission spokeswoman.


Donetsk and Luhansk to bleed UAH1 billion from budget this month

KIEV, June 6 – The situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions has started seriously affecting the revenues of the national budget, and in June the losses could reach UAH 1 billion, or around the half of the average amount of revenues from the two regions, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.


US court triples claim in vaccine fraud case, to $59.8 million

KIEV, June 8 – The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon has decided to triple the sum of a claim filed by Ukrvaktsyna (Ukrainian Vaccine) against Olden Group, to $59,785,292, a source at Ukrvaktsyna told Interfax-Ukraine.

The source said that the claim was the result of a large-scale audit initiated by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.


PM orders study of alleged Gazprom overcharging for supply contracts

KIEV, June 9 - Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Thursday ordered the energy ministry to study Gazprom’s European natural gas supply contracts in order to prove that the Russian company has been overcharging Ukraine.


Ukraine meeting uranium pledge, says PM

KIEV, June 9 - Ukraine has removed most of its enriched uranium from the country’s territory, meeting its commitment made at a nuclear non-proliferation summit in Washington last year, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
