NBU says conditions may allow monetary policy easing later this year

KIEV, Aug. 6 - The National Bank of Ukraine expects that restoration of control over inflation and strengthening of monetary stability will allow it closer to ease monetary policy and support economic activity towards the end of 2015.


Government reports deflation for July, breaking 23-month streak

Peat fires registered throughout the territory of Kiev region

KIEV, Aug. 9 – Peat fires have been registered throughout the territory of Kiev region, the Emergencies Ministry said on Monday.

Firefighters are currently extinguishing a fire on 0.6 hectares of peat bog in the village of Rakivka Vyshgorod district, 0.35 hectares of peat bog in the vicinity of the village of Ozera, Borodianka district, and on 0.4 hectares in the village of Hostomel, Irpin district, the ministry said.


UEFA to open center in Warsaw to broadcast Euro 2012 matches

KIEV, Aug. 7 – UEFA has decided to open an International Broadcasting Center (IBC) in Warsaw to broadcast matches of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, Kommersant Ukraine newspaper reported on Friday.
