KIEV, Oct. 9 (AFP) - Ukraine will hold snap parliamentary elections on December 7, President Viktor Yushchenko announced Thursday, after the collapse of the ruling pro-West coalition.

In a decree posted on his official website, Yushchenko "set parliamentary elections for December 7, 2008."

KIEV, Oct. 8 – President Viktor Yushchenko will participate in a meeting of member states of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova), during an energy summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Oct. 10-11, deputy head of the Presidential Secretariat Oleksandr Chaly said at a briefing in Kiev on Monday.
