President to meet with opposition leaders

Ukraine to build its own LNG terminal, says energy minister
ISTANBUL, June 8 - Ukraine will build its own liquefied natural gas terminal on its territory, says Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko.
"Given the fact that Azerbaijan and Georgia signed [an agreement to] build a liquefied natural gas terminal on the Black Sea coast, we also decided to build a liquefied natural gas terminal on our side," he told reporters in Istanbul on Tuesday. |
Yanukovych: Ukraine not planning to use IMF money to cover deficit
KIEV, June 9 – Ukraine is not planning to use funds from the International Monetary Fund to cover the state budget deficit, President Viktor Yanukovych said.
"We are not planning to use IMF funds to finance Ukraine's budget. They, first and foremost, will be spent on stabilizing Ukraine's financial sector. |
President to hold special meeting Thursday on Naftogaz Ukrayiny
KIEV, June 10 – President Viktor Yushchenko will hold a special meeting on Thursday to examine measures that would improve finances of Naftogaz Ukrayiny to secure steady imports and transit of natural gas.
Last week Yushchenko asked the National Bank of Ukraine to print 3.8 billion hyrvnias to help Naftogaz pay for Russian gas imports in May, underscoring the dire state of the company. |
