Drunken pilot and crew said to delay Donbassaero flight departure
KIEV, March 10 – Donetsk-based Donbassaero is probing the cause of a delay in a regular flight between Kiev and Simferopol, which was scheduled for 7:15 a.m. Kiev time on March 9.
"The exact causes behind the long delay in the departure of the plane are being investigated, after which Donbassaero's management will take adequate measures. |
Report: 1.5 million Ukrainians have left for work abroad since 2000
KIEV, March 10 – Over 1.5 million Ukrainians have left the country to work abroad since 2000, according to the head of the Open Ukraine foundation, MP Arseniy Yatseniuk.
"Since 2000, according to our data, some 1.5 million people left Ukraine as labor migrants," he said during a conference entitled "Feeling the migrant's heartbeat: who and what awaits Ukrainian migrants after their return?" on Tuesday in Kiev.

Presidential official expresses concern over rising region pay debts
KIEV, March 10 – The presidential secretariat is concerned over the complicated social and economic situation in the country, particularly regarding the increasing salary debts in the regions.
The deputy head of presidential secretariat, Roman Bezsmertny, said on Tuesday that the sum of salary debts is currently UAH 1.525 billion. |

After Ukraine joined the World Trade Organization Kiev started talks with Brussels on creating a free trade zone which is also stipulated in the new EU-Ukraine Enhanced Agreement which is currently being negotiated, she said at the EU-Ukraine conference in Brussels on Monday. |
Ukraine won’t attempt to raise fee for Russian gas transit in talks
KIEV, March 11 – Ukraine doesn't plan to bring up the issue of raising the price of Russian natural gas transit during the talks with Gazprom in Moscow, First Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov said.
"Ukraine does not plan to bring up the issue of raising the gas transit price, and we believe that Russia will act correspondingly and will not touch the issue of raising the price of gas supplies," he said in an interview with reporters in Kiev on Tuesday.
