Ukraine in mourning after Polish tragedy

KIEV, April 11 – President Viktor Yanukovych declared a day of mourning Monday following the death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, and dozens of Polish political and military leaders, in a plane crash in western Russia.


PM: Modernization of Ukrainian gas transport will boost profitability

KIEV, April 8 – The modernization of the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS) will significantly increase the profitability of natural gas transit, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at a meeting with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt.


Finance minister authorized to borrow money from international market

KIEV, April 8 – Finance Minister Fedir Yaroshenko has been authorized by the Ukrainian government to borrow funds abroad and conclude respective loan agreements.

A corresponding decision is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 818 dated April 7.
