Fighting escalates in southeastern Ukraine

KYIV, July 27 - Fierce fighting raged Thursday in southeastern Ukraine, where a Western official said Kyiv has launched a major push and Russian President Vladimir Putin said “hostilities have intensified significantly,” The Associated Press reported.
