Premier blames recent hryvnia dive on international financial crisis

KIEV, Sept. 26 – The recent weakening of the hryvnia exchange rate in Ukraine is linked with the worsening of the international financial crisis, according to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.


Government forms bureau for integration with Euro-Atlantic groups

KIEV, Sept. 26 - A bureau for integration with Euro-Atlantic organizations under the auspices of the Ukrainian government has begun operating.

The bureau, which is headed by former Foreign Ministry spokesman Vadym Triukhan, will be responsible for promoting cooperation between Ukrainian bodies of power in charge of the country's integration into the EU and NATO.


Yushchenko to visit US, confer with Bush on security issues

KIEV, Sept. 26 – President Viktor Yushchenko will make a working visit to the United States on Sept. 29.

During his visit, the head of state is scheduled to meet with U.S. President George Bush and extended talks will then be held between the delegations of the two countries.
