UN to monitor Ukraine war for violations against children

NEW YORK, July 11 - The United Nations announced Monday it will start monitoring the war in Ukraine and conflicts in Ethiopia, Mozambique and Africa’s central Sahel region for violations against children, including killings, injuries, recruitment, rape and other forms of sexual violence.


Ukraine’s top security official to Putin: "We haven't started yet”

KYIV, July 11 - Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, on Monday seemingly responded to recent comments made by Russian President Vladimir Putin by saying "we haven't even started yet" after stating that Western weapons have shifted the course of the war in Ukraine's favor, Newsweek reported.


Russia shuts down key Europe gas pipeline

BERLIN, July 11 - A major natural gas pipeline from Russia to western Europe shut down Monday for annual maintenance as Germany prepared to give the green light for 10 coal-fired power plants to restart because of concerns that Russia may not resume the flow of gas as scheduled, The Associated Press reported.


Zelenskyy says Europe must prepare for Russian gas supply cutoff

KYIV, July 11 - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Europe needs to prepare for the possibility that Russia cuts off gas supplies.

Russia has never played by the rules in energy and will not play now unless it sees strength,” Zelenskyy said on the Telegram messaging app, according to an NBC News translation, according to a report by CNBC.

Ukraine receives $1.7-bln grant from U.S., Finance Ministry reports

KYIV, July 12 – On Tuesday, July 12, Ukraine's state budget received a grant from the United States in the amount of $1.7 billion, the Ministry of Finance reported.

These funds were provided from the Single-Donor Trust Fund established by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development [IBRD], the International Development Association (IDA) and the United States Agency for International Development [USAID]," the press release states.

Ukraine plans to rapidly restore social infrastructure destroyed by war

KYIV, July 12 – The Ukraine fast recovery plan will provide for the rapid restoration of social infrastructure destroyed as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion, and should take into account the best modern construction standards, Deputy Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said speaking at a meeting of the British-Ukrainian working group on infrastructure in Warsaw.
