House overwhelmingly approves Ukraine aid
WASHINGTON, Sept 28 - The House late Thursday night overwhelmingly approved $300 million in new aid to Ukraine. The 311-117 vote came after House GOP leaders on Wednesday stripped the Ukraine assistance from a Pentagon funding bill. All “no” votes came from Republicans, The Hill reported.

Ukraine agrees for UN’s FAO to set up office for humanitarian assistance
KYIV, Sept 27 – The Cabinet of Ministers has agreed on the signing of an agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on the establishment of a project office in the country to provide it with technical and humanitarian assistance in the face of Russian military aggression.

Ukraine, Hungary clash over Russian gas deal
BUDAPEST, Sept 28 - A diplomatic conflict between Hungary and Ukraine deepened on Tuesday when the two countries summoned each other’s ambassadors over Budapest’s decision to sign a long-term contract to purchase Russian gas, something Ukraine considers a blow to its economic and national security interests, AP reported.

Corruption is Ukraine’s most urgent problem, poll finds
KYIV, Sept 25 – Ukrainians say corruption is one of the country's biggest problems and most prevalent in the nation's judiciary and parliament.
The findings are based on the results from a monitoring study, dubbed "The State of Corruption in Ukraine," conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from May through September 2018. Results of the survey were published on KIIS's website on Tuesday. |
Stoltenberg: Ukraine to decide on NATO
NEW YORK, Sept. 26 – Russia will play no role in Ukraine’s decision to join NATO alliance despite Moscow’s strong opposition to the move, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday. |
