Finance minister leads Ukrainian team for IMF-World Bank meeting
KYIV, Oct 12 – A Ukrainian delegation consisting of Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, his deputies and deputy governors of the National Bank at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Washington discussed prospects for further cooperation with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

Zelensky proposes to create "financial Ramstein" to help Ukraine survive
KYIV, Oct 13 – President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed that the world financial community take three urgent steps to support Ukraine: create a "financial Ramstein," ensure economic recovery and assistance to Ukrainians, and create a mechanism to support investments and insure them against military risks.

Ukraine hopes new systems will shoot down 80% of Russian air targets
BRUSSELS, Oct 13 – Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov says that understanding of what, when and how can be delivered by partners in terms of air defense to close the Ukrainian skies will come next month.
He said this on Thursday in Brussels to Ukrainian journalists, commenting on the course of meetings in the Ramstein format and with defense ministers of NATO member countries.

IMF’s Georgieva sees “difficult year” ahead for Ukraine
KYIV, Oct 13 – A difficult year will be in front of Ukraine in 2023: the public finance deficit is estimated at between $3 billion and $4 billion, it is necessary to ensure sustainability of the economy, and the IMF will provide support: an international forum will be brought together in the near future to solve this problem, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva has said.

Ukraine receives more air defense pledges
KYIV, Oct 13 - Ukraine’s allies vowed Thursday to supply the besieged nation with advanced air defense systems as Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with kamikaze drones and fired missiles elsewhere at civilian targets, payback for the bombing of a strategic bridge linking Russia with annexed Crimea.

Cabinet of Ministers postpones key privatization tenders by 6 months
KIEV, Oct. 13 – The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the final terms of selling shares in energy companies, Odessa Port-Side Plant, Sumykhimprom and Ivano-Frankivsk Locomotive Repair Plant at a tender by six months.
On October 9 the State Property Fund said that the Cabinet of Ministers was forced to extend the plan to privatize state-owned enterprises from 2015 until 2016. |
