KIEV, Jan. 12 – Ukrainian Sports and Youth Minister Ihor Zhdanov doubts that EuroBasket 2017 will be held in Ukraine.

"We talked to Volkov [President of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine (BFU) Oleksandr Volkov] about this situation. While we are at war, there will be no EuroBasket for us. For now, holding EuroBasket in Ukraine isn't realistic, as well as doing it in 2017, as it requires money," he said during an Internet conference on xsport.ua website on Monday.

NBU governor calls 2014 central bank monetary policy 'unacceptable'

KIEV, Jan. 14 – The National Bank of Ukraine’s monetary policy in 2014 was unacceptable, NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva said.

"Last year the central bank financed 40% of consolidated revenues of the national budget. This monetary policy is unacceptable, even in the conditions of hostilities. In 2015, our credit and monetary policy should be more thoughtful," the central bank wrote on its Facebook page, referring to Gontareva, who was speaking at a meeting with bankers on Tuesday.
