Parliament introduces ban on recent Russian films and TV shows

KIEV, Feb. 5 – Parliament has introduced legislative amendments which ban films and TV series produced by individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation after January 1, 2014.

"Ukraine has prohibited distribution and public demonstration of films produced by individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation, as well as films that glorify the activities (depict positively) of law enforcement agencies, armed forces and other military formations of the Russian Federation, or their representatives, and films, the plot of which is directly or indirectly related to the activities of these agencies or formations," the law said.

At the same time, the law says that the prohibition does not apply to films that were made before January 1, 2014.
