MINSK, Dec. 30 – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, during his recent visit to Ukraine, discussed with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko the separation of the conflicting parties in Donbas, and the functioning of the Russian-Ukrainian border.
"The major problem, if we mean the talks that were held with the Ukrainian president, is the separation of the sides. There is contact between the Ukrainian army and the 'militia.' We need to separate them by at least 30 kilometers. And this area needs to be controlled so that there is no conflict, and heavy weapons need to be withdrawn," Lukashenko told journalists in Minsk on Monday.
