BRUSSELS, Dec. 2 - NATO trust funds that have been set up to help Ukraine conduct defense reform began to work on Tuesday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
"Today, these four trust funds are up and running," he said at a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday.
According to Ukraine's Mission to NATO, the first fund was created to modernize communications and automation systems and foresees the modernization of the capabilities of communications and automation systems in managing the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in accordance with modern standards. Contributors to this fund are Britain, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, and NATO's Civil Budget.
