KIEV, Nov. 13 – Centrenergo energy generating company reported it has struck contracts to buy 509,000 tons of Russian coal at a price of $80 per ton (without transportation costs) by the end of the current year in connection with the coal deficit of A- and T-grade coal in Ukraine.

The company also reported that the price of coal it buys from the South African Republic is $86 per ton ($110-112 per ton with transportation and loading costs). A total of 250,000 tons of coal from the South African Republic are to be supplied by the end of the year.
