KIEV, Dec. 26 - President Viktor Yushchenko, on a surprise one-day visit to Iraq on Monday, said Ukraine seeks boosting cooperation with the Middle East nation in oil and gas extraction, transportation and power machinery sectors.

Yushchenko, while inspecting Ukrainian troops that are pulling out from Iraq after completing two-year peace keeping mission, said his meetings with senior Iraqi government officials will boost cooperation.
