KIEV, Oct. 28 - President Petro Poroshenko talked on the phone with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, during which the two discussed the forming of a coalition at the new Ukrainian parliament and the provision of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.

"President Poroshenko thanked President Barroso and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy for a very important statement, in which the EU leaders called the parliamentary elections a victory of the Ukrainian people and democracy," the Ukrainian presidential press service said in a statement.
