KIEV, Sept. 26 – The Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (IABU) has asked the National Bank of Ukraine to introduce currency interventions to support the cash desks of banks and currency exchange offices with cash foreign currency to sell to the public.

"With the purpose of stabilizing the situation on the cash foreign currency market of Ukraine IABU asked to consider a proposal to introduce interventions on the sale of foreign currency to compensate for the currency position appearing at banks due to the sale of cash foreign currency," reads a posting on the Web site of the association.
