KIEV, Sept. 19 – Ukraine ’s industrial output fell 21.4% year-on-year in August, compared with 12.1% drop in July, 5% decline in June and 2.1% contraction in May, the State Statistics Service reported.
Industrial output plummeted 58.7% in the Donetsk region and 85% in Luhansk region, the two regions hit by fighting between the government forces and pro-Russian separatists backed by the Russian army.
Ukrainian industry fell 7.8% year-on-year in January-August, compared with a drop of 4.8% in the same period of last year.
