KIEV, Sept. 1 – President Petro Poroshenko has conveyed his thanks to the U.S. Congress for its initiative to grant Ukraine major non-NATO ally status.

"It will allow us to receive new opportunities for cooperation with the United States, and enhance our security," the president said during his meeting with U.S. Senator Robert Menendez in Kiev on Monday.
