KIEV, Aug. 26 – President Petro Poroshenko has thanked German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her support of the Ukrainian people and stressed that they spoke for 20 times over the past two months.

"Poroshenko said that Merkel is a good friend and strong advocate of Ukraine. Over the past two months they spoke for over 20 times, and this helped Ukraine to protect its interests," reads a statement of the presidential press service issued after a meeting of Poroshenko and Merkel in Kiev on Saturday.
